Liz Milewicz

Liz Milewicz is Project Manager for The Expanded Online Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database (or Voyages)Project at the Emory University Libraries. She has also worked on DLF Aquifer (Services and Metadata Working Groups), The Distributed Library: OAI for Digital Library Aggregation, and Music of Social Change.

Liz is currently working on a PhD at Emory University. Her work is an interdisciplinary study of changes to academic libraries & academic library culture in the Information Age). She has an MLS from the University of Alabama and has worked as Reference, Interlibrary Loan, and Serials Librarian, manuscript editor of Graduate School theses and dissertations and of faculty pre-print research articles, Freshman Composition instructor for 2-year and 4-year colleges, and research assistant for a variety of faculty in Education, English, Library Science, and Linguistic.

Liz is interested in how new media and technologies affect academic research and writing practices, as well as the role of physical and virtual places in scholarly social networks, research, and collaboration.
