Nafees Khan is the K-12 Coordinator and Project Assistant for the Transatlantic Slave Trade Database Online project (Voyages)at the Robert W. Woodruff Library.

Nafees is a current PhD student in Educational Studies at Emory University. He has a BA in Sociology with History minor from Tufts University and served as Coordinator of Youth Programs at LaGuardia Community College.

[edit] Interests

Nafees's interests include History and Social Studies education, and issues surrounding how slavery is presented in textbooks in the U.S. and Brazil.

[edit] Presentations

Nafees will present the Voyages Project to teachers at two conferences: Georgia Council for the Social Studies (GCSS) in October 2007 and at Social Science History Association (SSHA) in November 2007.
