Letters by William Wesley Welborn, who served in Company F of the 1st South Carolina Infantry Regiment, wrote from Petersburg, Virginia (August-September 1863); Chattanooga, Morristown, and Bull's Gap, Tennessee (September 1863-April 1864); and Charlottesville and Gordonsville, Virginia (April 1864), mainly to his wife, Zelphia. He apparently was killed in the Battle of the Wilderness, May 5-6, 1864 (typescript)
