25-page memoir, "Thrilling Experiences of a First Georgia Cavalryman in the Civil War" by O. P. Hargis. Hargis joined the 1st Georgia Cavalry at Resaca, Georgia in May 1864 when he was 15 years old. This Division, under command of General Wheeler acted as skirmishers to cover Johnson's retreat from Resaca to Atlanta. Memoir also includes some background and follow up on Hargis and his family (typescript)
