Recto: Cotton bale scene on the levee, New Orleans, LA; Verso: Commercial chrome. Receiving freight for river steamboat trade. A few years ago the interior cities and towns of Louisiana sent an immense amount of freight by steamboat to New Orleans. The vessels sometimes laid three and four deep along the banks of the river, giving unlimited work to laborers. The railroads have changed all that and now bring most of the country products to the city. 12193. Pub. by J. Scordill, New Orleans, LA. Post card. Place stamp here. Domestic one cent.
