- Description / Abstract:
- Verso: The New London Playgrouds are about to open for their third season and the Playground Committee once again appeals to the public for a generous support. We want to open three playgrounds; one on Bradley St., and two connected with the schools. We want to purchase new apparatus, to replace some of the old which has been worn out, and to meet the salaries of Mr. Williams and his several assistants. The May Dance netted a little over two hundred dollars. We need five hundred more. Much is at present being done in a material way to improve the city. The Playground Committee labors in order that the city may be inhabited by fine citizens. Contributions should be sent to Mr. Henry Holt Smith, Mariners Savings Bank. Playground Committee. New London, Jun 29, 7-30P, 1911, Conn., Post card, This side for the address only, U.S. postage, one cent, Mrs. Susan Hawkins, 265 Williams St., City
