Recto: Raleigh Tavern and Colonial Coach, Williamsburg, Va.; Verso: The Raleigh Tavern and Garden reconstructed, One of Williamsburg's best known taverns during the 18th century, this has been completely rebuilt, largely on original foundations, and furnished in conformity with ancient inventories. It is not yet operated as a tavern but is open for inspection. Tuesday, Dear Mother, We are spending 2 days in Williamsburg are staying at one of the old taverns. Had lots of interest today as we went to both Yorktown & Jamestown to take in the historial towns. Had a marvelous steak dinner at 18th Chownings Tavern last night.
