Description / Abstract:
Recto: Iowa in Mississippi. This is Iowa Hall constructed in Mississippi at The Piney Woods School with gifts from folks up in Iowa; Verso: Dear friend: I am just wondering whether our desire to improve the campus of the Piney Woods School would not appeal to Iowans who have not helped with any other project. If I could raise $1500 we could make a wonderful change in our campus. At is is, aside from the State Sanatorium and the City of Hattiesburg, Piney Woods School is the most beautiful spot between Jackson and Gulfport--a distance of 160 miles--it's like an oasis in the desert. Enough one dollar donations will help beautify the campus along with some fives and tens. Laurence C. Jones. Piney Woods School, Piney Woods, Mississippi. Piney Woods, Miss. Sep 23, 1949, 11:30 AM. United States postage. George Washington 1789-1797. 1 cent 1. Mrs. C.A. Methfussel. Waverly, Iowa
