The first confederate speller : on a strictly philosophical and progressive plan : in which the two hundred and twenty-four simple and compound sounds that form the words of the English language are presented in monosyllables and syllables, and the words of the same clan, of one, two, or more syllables, are classed in tables, according to their peculiar terminations, the number of words in each table varying in number according to the extent of the respective clans
