Confederate veteran Jimmy R. Jones and Buddy Boswell. Jones was the last surviving veteran who saw Confederate general Joseph E. Johnston surrender to Union general William Tecumseh Sherman on April 26, 1865. Boswell was a member of the US Navy who was killed near Guam during World War II
